How do we ensure we have and promote an anti-racist attitude?

If you use any type of social media platform, whether it be Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat or even Facebook then you may have heard of ‘#blackouttuesday’.Black Out Tuesday took place on the 2nd  of June 2020 and was an organised online protest to police brutality and in the wake of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor’s murders, it spread like wildfire. By 16:45 pm on the same day, the hashtag had a staggering 14.6 million Instagram posts alone. As well as this, google trends suggest that searches to do with Black Out Tuesday surged by 400% on that same Tuesday morning. As great as this event was at bringing people together and showing a front that was ‘united against racism’, it left us with the big question of ‘what we have done since then’? The answer for lots of people seems to be less than they would’ve liked to do or maybe even nothing at all.
